首先要注意的是，它们的读音就不一样。crush是 /krʌʃ/ ，crash是 /kræʃ/

那为何这两个词会让人混淆呢？源于它们各自有一个意思相似的含义，但从英语释义中我们又能发现还是不一样。

☛crush有“压碎、挤坏”的意思，但强调的是“press or squeeze sth so hard”。

例：1.Andrew crushed his empty can. 安德鲁压扁了他的空罐子。
2.Several people were crushed to death in the accident. 好几个人在事故中被压死了。

☛而crash有“碰撞，挤压”的意思，但强调的是“hit sth hard while moving”。

例：1.A brick crashed through the window.砖块哗啦一声砸入了窗户。

2.Her car crashed into the rear of a van. 她的汽车撞毁了一辆面包车的尾部。

3.The door swung inwards to crash against a chest of drawers behind it. 门摆向里面，砰的一声猛力撞上了门后的五斗橱。

4.The plane crashed mysteriously near the island of Ustica. 飞机在乌斯蒂卡岛附近神秘地坠毁了。

下面再说说这两个词各自的其他意思。

crush /krʌʃ/

1.镇压（vt.）

例：The military operation was the first step in a plan to crush the uprising. 这次军事行动是镇压暴动计划的第一步。

2.破坏、使人精神崩溃（vt.）

例：Listen to criticism but don't be crushed by it. 听批评意见，但不要被它击垮。

3.挤在一起，把…塞入（vt.）

例：We were at the front, crushed against the stage. 我们在前面, 被挤得紧挨着舞台。
Over twenty prisoners were crushed into a small dark cell.二十多名囚犯被塞在一间黑暗狭小的牢房里。

4.crush还可作为名词。现在很多人在网络上说“我的crush”，这又是什么意思呢？

指暗恋、迷恋（a strong feeling of love, that usually does not last very long）原本在牛津词典中多指年轻人对年长者的短暂的爱恋感情，但现在网络上说的crush并没那么看重年龄了。

例：a schoolgirl crush 女学生的迷恋

I had a huge crush on her.我对她爱慕至极。

She had a crush on you, you know. 你知道吧，她曾暗恋过你。

5.拥挤的人群（n.）

例：a big crush in the theatre bar 剧院酒吧里拥挤不堪的人群

His thirteen-year-old son somehow got separated in the crush.他13岁的儿子不知怎么在拥挤的人群里走散了。

crash /kræʃ/

1.(企业、金融机构) 突然垮台，倒闭，破产；暴跌

例：the 1987 stock market crash 1987年的股票市场暴跌

When the market crashed, they assumed the deal would be cancelled. 市场崩盘时，他们以为那笔交易会取消。

2.（计算机或系统）死机

例：The computer crashed for the second time in 10 days. 计算机10天内第2次死机了。
